Participants from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Norway, the Netherlands, Scotland, and Wales attended the two-day kick-off meeting for the WISHES programme on 8 and 9 October 2011 in Amsterdam. The group brainstormed about their individual hopes, dreams and wishes for the WISHES programme.

With a kick-off sprint in the Heemtuin botanical garden on Wednesday, September 21, the project Beweeg in het Goudse Hout (Moving in the Goudse Hout) was launched. The sprint was put on by Daphne Bergman, a board member of the Reeuwijk Lakes Recreation Board and also an Alderwoman in Gouda, together with students from the Koningin Wilhelminaschool. Bergman was then thoroughly interviewed by the children from the talent class Move. The boys, girls, and the teacher eagerly waited to pose their questions to this important visitor. And Alderwoman Daphne Bergman actually arrived by bike.
